The Salt Cellar Series: Meyer Family Vineyards

Tuesday, March 8th, 2011 7:00 p.m - $40 (+ tax and gratuity)

Established as a premier producer of Chardonnay for the 2006 vintage, Meyer Family Vineyards arrived on the B.C. wine scene with huge expectations of themselves.

Owner Jak Meyer spent 3 years looking for the right vineyard location and in 2006 purchased the Naramata property. There are only two wines produced from the Naramata vineyard, both made from Chardonnay: The ‘Tribute Series’ is dedicated to a Western Canadian individual of significance and the Micro Cuvee, which is just that, a wine of the very finest barrels from the vintage and extremely small production. The dedication to producing the Okanagan’s best quality chardonnay is realized with the impeccably manicured vineyard and rigorous selection of perfect fruit.

In 2008, Jak purchased a second vineyard of just 6.9 hectares, located in the Okanagan Falls area. This vineyard is planted to Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Gewurztraminer. Furthermore in 2008, Jak acquired another key asset to ensure outstanding quality: Winemaker and Viticulturalist Chris Carson.
Join us as we pair Meyer’s critically acclaimed wines to the local artisanal cheeses and charcuterie you have come to expect from the team at Salt.
